My son goes to a school that uses Skoleintra. I find it an old system with a frustrating app that's awkward to navigate. Eventually I thought there had to be a way to avoid using it.
I was building my own personal assistant to bring together the devices and services I use every day. pyskoleintra was the first standalone library I built for it. It wraps Skoleintra in a Python interface, so I can bring the information into my own solution instead of opening the app.
Now I can read messages from teachers and other parents, check the reading log, homework and timetable, and even submit pickup arrangements to the after-school club. That was really the whole motivation: turning a recurring everyday irritation into something I could choose how to use.
